Family Day Education and Care provides quality care in the homes of registered carers. It offers learning and development in a safe, secure and stimulating homelike environment for children from birth to twelve years of age.
Educators are registered with Lady Gowrie Tasmania and supported and monitored by staff from the Lady Gowrie Family Day Education and Care Co-ordination Team. Educators are located throughout the suburbs of southern Tasmania.
Family Day Education and Care is regulated by State and Federal Governments under the National Quality Framework. Eligible families can register for Child Care Benefit to reduce the cost of education and care.
Family Day Education and Care provides flexible care and education options for families including:
- Standard hours
- School holidays
- Before/after school care
- Occasional care
This form of education and care in a family focused small group environment, with a diversity of ages, supports the development of self-esteem and social skills.
