The Family Support Service is a program of Lady Gowrie Tasmania funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, through the Community Services Program.
The Service is available to families with children to provide respectful, confidential support for strengthening and developing family life.
The program promotes the safety, stability and wellbeing of vulnerable children, young people and their families. The service promotes strong, functional and well supported families by building child, family and community capacity and resilience. This support is provided by working collaboratively with other agencies through a referral process and providing support tailored to families with complex needs.
Support professionals work collaboratively with families to empower them by identifying needs and providing a range of functions to improve outcomes. This includes:
- Individual support, by phone or in person
- Resource materials
- Referral to other agencies
- Facilitating parent group discussions
Operational Hours
Operating 48 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
After hours by arrangement
Closed between Christmas and New Year and on gazetted public holidays
