Children's Programs: Outside School Hours Care

Quality Outside School Hours Care Programs are offered by Lady Gowrie Tasmania at different venues in Hobart and Launceston for children 5 to 12 years of age.

The Outside School Hours Care programs participate in the licensing and accreditation processes. These processes involve intensive efforts from staff in ensuring that the facilities and programs are of the highest quality.

After School Care is offered from the following venues:

• Mount Nelson After School Care Mount Nelson Primary School, Mount Nelson
• Bowen Road After School Care Bowen Road Primary School, Moonah
• Norwood After School Care Norwood Primary School, Norwood
• Goulburn Street After School Care Goulburn Street Primary School, West Hobart
  

Before, After School, Vacation Care is offered from the following venue:

• Albuera Street Outside School Hours Care Albuera Street Primary School, Hobart

All venues are accessed by children from the relevant school community but are also available to others.

Program Planning

Programming is informed by the eight quality areas of the Outside School Hours Care Quality Assurance System, and the Tasmanian Department of Education's Essential Learnings Framework.

Staff teams work together to plan programs that meet the needs of children during the hours before and after school and during vacation periods. The programs provide opportunities for relaxation, physical activity, creative pursuits and fun with friends.

Snacks

Nutritious snacks are provided at the after school and vacation care programs. Sometimes children are involved in the preparation of the afternoon tea. They are consulted about preferences and encouraged to make healthy choices.

Fees and Accounts

Fees are charged on a sessional, daily or weekly basis and are payable daily, weekly or fortnightly. EFTPOS, Bpay and Credit Card facilities are available.

Hours of Operation

After School: 3 pm - 6 pm during school terms
Holiday Care and Pupil Free Days: 8 am - 6 pm (Albuera Street Program only) during school vacation periods.
Goulburn Street pupil free days 8.00am-6.00pm
