Lady Gowrie Bowen Road Education and Care Centre
This purpose built centre was developed on the Bowen Road School site in 2005 as part of the Department of Education Child Care in Schools Program – initiated in response to the high demand for additional child care places across the state.
This spacious state of the art building, recognised by being nominated for an architectural award, features extensive use of glass providing natural light and supports high level supervision. Contemporary and natural colours were chosen to provide an environment which is conducive to a quality service provision.
The Centre features commissioned artworks by a local artist. These works are placed at a level which stimulates conversations between adults and children, fostering an appreciation of creativity and supporting language development.
With the after school care program on site, families have a seamless approach to the provision of education and care in this community.
