Lady Gowrie Acton Education and Care Centre
 
This purpose build state of the art centre opened in March 2007. The design of the facility is contemporary, spacious and reflects the individuality of the centre community. An outdoor environment has been designed to support children’s environmental awareness with a large vegetable garden including fruit trees regularly attended to by the children. (photo?)
 
Only fifteen minutes from the city centre and five minutes from the Hobart Airport, the Centre offers a quality child care and education program specifically designed to enhance children’s overall wellbeing and support lifelong learning.
 
Operational Details
 
The centre offers full-time and regular part time care for children from birth to five years of age for 51 weeks of the year. The hours are detailed below:
 
Long Day Care: 7.30am – 6.30pm (Monday to Friday)
Sessional Care: 7.30am – 1.00pm or 1.00pm – 6.30pm (Monday to Friday)
 
The centre is closed between Christmas and the New Year and on gazetted public holidays.
 
Meals / Snacks
 
Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea are provided, with the cost included in the fee structure.
 
Specialist Programs
 
Committed to the health and well being of young children, the centre provides a specialist physical activity program for three to five year olds. The “Get Moving” program promotes the importance of daily physical activity while enhancing the child’s overall development and learning.
